Recently, I wrote of Biden’s proposed Covid-19 solutions to problems already well on their way to being solved or were inflicted on us by Biden’s allies, the teacher’s unions, and the educational establishment. President Biden means with the help of his media allies to claim he defeated the virus. A Big lie is in the making.
It helps to see exactly where we were on Inauguration Day. The facts are, the virus has passed its apogee and is receding. Vaccine distribution is already on the pace to exceed 100 million doses in his first hundred days. The charts from 1/20 from Johns Hopkins and numbers from the CDC serve as base points.
As you can see, cases, hospitalizations, deaths, and test positivity on Inauguration Day are all heading down. The results were with record-high testing. I think the highs in these areas have passed, and we have seen the worst of the epidemic. It may be the result of mask-wearing and distancing being widespread. Johns Hopkins’ Dr. Marty Makary points to the beginning of herd immunity. Remember, we get this state when a significant percentage of the populace has had the virus, is vaccinated, or some combination of the two. While only 15 million are vaccinated, some have estimated up to a third of us have had the virus. Some people may have T-Cell immunity. The combination makes even this easy spreader’s job harder. The downtrends will only get more pronounced as people are vaccinated.
I predicted by 1/20, 15 million people inoculated. The total doses administered on that day were over one million. As forecasted, this rate meets Biden’s 100 million doses by the end of his first hundred days. With the infrastructure already in place to deliver a million shots a day, our delivery ability will only expand. Every day more inoculation locations are coming online. The only thing that might hold us back from far surpassing this goal is the vaccines’ timely delivery.
People might forget that Operation Warp Speed wasn’t about just the two vaccines we presently have. The Trump administration also invested in others. The AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine is already vaccinating millions in the U.K. and Europe. Mid-April approval in the U.S.is expected. However, overseas success could speed up the timetable. Because it needs less special handling, it’s easier to distribute.
Dr. Anthony Fauci commented recently on another vaccine, “Johnson & Johnson is right around the corner … right around the corner means that they’re probably a couple of weeks away from getting the data looked at, to have the FDA evaluate whether or not we’re in a situation where we could move ahead and start thinking about getting it out into the public.” Unlike the others, this a one-shot vaccine. It requires no special handling. Distribution for both would be as easy as our annual flu vaccine.
With the epidemic topped out and a vaccine program in place exceeding Biden’s 100 million dose goal, there is little if anything in President Biden’s 198-page Plan can contribute. Messing with the in-place plans might instead set us back.
Changing to central planning could result in New York type confusion rather than Florida success. After all, New York represents Democratic thinking, while Florida reflects red-state sensibilities. Florida has made older people the focus of its efforts. This action is in line with what we’ve known all along. Older people are the ones most at risk. I wrote of this back in March of last year. Nothing has ever changed. New York emphasized “essential workers.” It makes little sense to inoculate younger workers before the elderly. This idea is especially true of those that already had the virus. Florida, as usual, is doing better than New York. Do we want the whole country to have New York results? The beauty of the states developing local plans is we can see what works and adjust. New York is changing course to emulate Florida’s success. This flexibility might be impossible under a national program.
Biden’s Plan proposes using the Defense Production Act (DPA) to ramp up vaccine production significantly and create 100 super injection centers to get the increased amount into people’s arms. Sounds great, but it actually might harm. You can only increase the production of vaccines approved now. It will take time, maybe into March or April, before we see the results. By that time, if not before, the other two vaccines may come online. Distribution is the same widespread system we’ve used to inoculate half the country for the flu in a few months. Once you’re able to get the shot at CVS or Safeway, no one will want to travel twice to some super-center and wait in line. What will we do with all these doses needing refrigeration and special handling?
Remember the Trump administration used TPA to significantly increase expensive ventilators’ production because of New York Governor Cuomo’s “chicken little” panic. We ended up giving away the new ventilators to underdeveloped countries. Because of their unique handling needs, the two presently approved vaccines are unsuitable for these countries. This characteristic means forcing American taxpayers to use inconvenient expensive inventory while sending the easy to use vaccines overseas. Otherwise, we would have to let vaccines go bad or destroy them. In an epidemic, this is unthinkable.
Few in Media seem aware of this possibility. Instead, the Media is intent on spreading falsehoods. According to CNN, the Biden administration sources lament, “There is nothing for us to rework. We are going to have to build everything from scratch.” My New York Times Morning Email goes even further. “Good morning. The Biden administration has a huge amount of work to do to get the virus under control,” President Biden even claims “it will get much worse.” By denying the Trump administration did anything, Biden and his media allies will claim he conquered the virus. This course would steal credit from the Trump administration. “Stolen Glory” is no more attractive here than someone wearing unearned medals.
Luckily, you have the base points to show who is lying. The charts and numbers I’ve provided are updated every business day. You can track the growth of the lie in real-time. The Democrats and their media allies attempt to dupe us regularly. Here you can see one of their endeavors in motion.
