Let’s see. Donald Trump cemented in J.D. Vance, the only vice-presidential candidate bringing nothing to the ticket but with considerable downside. All that is necessary to spring the trap on the GOP is to get old Joe Biden to bow out of the race in a wide-open convention that would anoint one of the several Democrats polling well enough to bring home the presidency. Instead, Joe drops out and endorses the one person Trump can beat, Kamala Harris. All the Democrats fall in line behind her. Huh?

It’s as if we’re telling Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse to go fishing and leaving the Little Big Horn battle to Little Chief Cackling Hen. Why devise such an intricate plan if you won’t execute it when victory is within reach? Believing that a Kamala Harris candidacy was the intended outcome is challenging. If she was the best choice, why not replace the already fading Joe Biden a year ago and have the “most qualified person” leading the charge, with all the advantages of incumbency?

Harris has been a terrible campaigner with horrible favorability ratings. She seems to have patterned her vice presidency on “Veep’s” Selina Meyer. She’s to the left of Bernie Sanders. No wonder no one was in a hurry to pull the rug out from under Biden to replace him with someone likely to prove worse.

So why are Democrats rallying around a weaker candidate this late in the game? Maybe they’re so giddy they’re no longer saddled with Old Joe that anyone else seems great. With only about 100 days to the election, they can cover up her record and give her a whole new persona, figuring there will be little time for voters to catch on.

Gaslighting the public has become an art form for the Democrats and their media allies. Russian collusion, the Wuhan wet market, the laptop coverup, and Biden being sharp as a tack, even though they were all false, have lasted far longer than truth and logic would dictate. These falsehoods benefitted the perpetrators, so why stop.

The one area clearly delegated to Kamala is the border, where she is widely known as the “border czar.” The epic failure to stop illegal immigration is a massive collapse by the probable Democratic candidate. Not to worry, the Donkeys and their media fellow travelers claim she was never the administration’s border lead player.

By the same token, a watchdog group named Harris the most liberal Senator when she served there. Remove the findings from your website. None of this stuff ever happened. Republicans are just making it up.

These people have forgotten the internet is forever. Endless articles have surfaced, showing that the administration and everyone else knew who the “Border Czar was. People had screenshots of the article showing how left-wing Harris voted. Axios repeated the media hoax. Kamala was never given the Border portfolio, only to be faced with their article saying she is.  

The failure to erase Harris’ record illuminates the best way to attack her: Use Kamala herself to inform us about her. More than enough material is available to fill all the ads Trump can run.

Of course, they could try the cheap-fake defense, like when people showed Joe Biden’s recorded stumbles, but they proved accurate. So it is with Kamalas’ recorded history.

After saturating the battleground states with ads showing the actual Kamala, it will be evident why she was Biden’s hole card. Even though everyone who interacted with Biden knew he wasn’t up to the job, removing him by the 25th Amendment or other means meant having Harris as president for the rest of the term.

The fact that they lied about his condition rather than elevating Kamala tells us all we need to know about what the people working with her thought of her capabilities. Even though Biden ended his presidential run, they’re not putting her in charge, even for the remaining months, and making her the incumbent.

Was Biden fully endorsing Kamala Joe’s revenge on those who finally turned on him? Nothing prevented him from releasing his delegates for an open convention, but he only went with Harris. Was it a middle finger to those who finally pushed him out?

Maybe this is behind his Kamala endorsement, but what explains the rapid rise in the ranks of Democratic luminaries and donors behind her candidacy, led by the Congressional Black Caucus? The Media has exceeded the call by heralding her while attempting to cover up her record.

Could this be a power play by the party’s black base? After all, South Carolina Rep. James Clyburn saved Biden in 2020 and gave him the nomination by delivering the Black vote. He showed where the real power is in the party. Who would oppose him if he wanted a Black Woman at the top of the ticket? Not the better possible candidates. They know bucking Clyburn and other blacks in the party is political suicide.

True or not, we have a less electable Black Woman at the top of the ticket. Can anyone say race didn’t play a large part in the selection? After all, the Democrats are the party of identity politics.

There is no denying Black clout in the Democratic Party. Political parties exist only to win elections, but the power-hungry forget this simple fact. Winning a pissing match but losing the election proves nothing. With any number of better candidates, the Democrats were likely to win. With Kamala, it’s a long shot. Only Trump’s mistakes will save her.

The predicted high from a new, younger candidate has occurred. Harris is now closer to even with Trump in the polls. I thought whoever was the new nominee would be picked at the convention and have a big head of steam going into the last two months of the race.

This leaves plenty of time for her own words and actions to expose her as a far-left lightweight if only Trump and Vance get out of their own way and let her destroy herself.

It may be well to remember that endangered down-ballot Democrats were at the forefront of the Dump Joe movement. If they see Kamala beginning to slip to where they’re jeopardized, big trouble could ensue. Already, six Democrats joined House Republicans in condemning Harris’ border work.

Instead of giving the same old Trump rallies, have big screens show Kamala and those close to her telling her story. There would be no nastiness, race, or gender, just pure Kamala Harris. It would be a winning energy saver. The question is, can Trump do the simple thing?

My last thought is that the Trumps and the Obamas may sit down and discuss how they can get mulligans on their ticket choices somewhere in a fancy, secluded restaurant.
